Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says the enemies are trying to trigger infighting among Muslims as they are destroying Islamic countries.

“The aim of the enemies today is to set off a civil war among Muslims which they have unfortunately succeeded to some extent,” the Leader said Tuesday on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the Prophet of Islam.

“They are destroying countries one after another. They are destroying Syria, Yemen and Libya. They have Muslims in Bahrain under pressure,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

The Leader criticized Muslim silence in his address to a group of Muslim ambassadors, Iranian officials and participants at an international conference on Islamic unity in Tehran.

“In Nigeria, why is this level of tragedy being brought on that peaceful, pro-proximity and faithful sheikh? Why is the world of Islam silent?” Ayatollah Khamenei said, referring to Sheikh Ibrahim al-Zakzaky who is being held incommunicado in military detention.

The Leader said he was disappointed with Muslim politicians, calling on Islamic thinkers to help “set up a new Islamic civilization.”

“Today, the Western civilization is revealing its contradictions. It is now Islam’s turn and it is up to Muslims to mobilize their efforts and establish a new Islamic civilization.

"This address, however, is to Ulama and Islamic thinkers of the world who do not regard the West as their Qibla. I have not much hope in the world of Islam’s politicians,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

“The world of Islam, like the Prophet, must unleash a new spirit and a fresh environment and set up a new Islamic civilization,” the Leader added.

Iran's logic based on cooperation with nations: Leader

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says Iran's logic is based on cooperation with other nations and peoples.

Ayatollah Khamenei made the comments in a Tuesday meeting with the visiting Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in Tehran, where the Leader pointed to “some exceptions with specific reasons” in such cooperation.

But, he noted, excluding those certain cases, we respond to honest emotions and policies with truthful emotions.

The Leader further pointed out that Iran has launched an inter-faith dialogue between Islam and Christianity, which provides an opportunity to strengthen common ground and help the manifestation of truth.

Ayatollah Khamenei added “Increasing commonalities and bringing facts to light” are a step towards creating the right perception and are among Islamic principles.

The Leader described the absence of correct and mutual perception to be the source of many instances of enmity, malevolence and regret, stating that today, in the propaganda-ridden atmosphere of the world, facts are represented skewed and such polluted environments are damaging to the humanity.

Ayatollah Khamenei also censured Western media for their Iranophobia campaign over the past four decades, describing such bids as another example of the West's deceitfulness.

He also noted that a slow spiritual growth was discernible among the young generation in the US and European countries.

Ayatollah Khamenei said "A slow and imperceptible spiritual germination is taking shape both in Europe and the United States, which has the youths as its pivot," adding that in the future, it is also likely that Europe can generate concordance between material, scientific, and technological development and spirituality.

The Hungarian PM, for his part, voiced satisfaction regarding his presence in Iran and said he had come to the country with a large economic and commercial delegation in attendance in order to boost the bilateral ties.

Orban said “Mutual understanding is the basis and foundation for lasting cooperation.”
