Leader urges vigilance against 'American Islam', Zionism

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei speaking at 'Affinity with the Quran' gathering of Quranic scholars, memorizers and reciters on the first day of Ramadan on June 29, 2014.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has once again warned of enemy ploys to undermine Islam through deviant versions of the great religion, noting that ‘American Islam’ is in line with Zionist objectives.

Drawing on the sharp contradictions the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini had observed between the “American Islam” and the genuine, Mohammadian Islam,” the Leader said, “The American Islam, despite its Islamic appearance and label, is in compliance with despotism and Zionism, yields to the supremacy of arrogant powers and entirely serves the goals of despotism and the US.”

Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks on Sunday during an annual ‘Affinity with the Quran’ gathering of Quranic scholars, reciters and memorizers, marking the first day of fasting month of Ramadan.

The Leader further pointed to the “evil hand of the enemy’s intelligence services” in staging upheavals in some Islamic communities, including Iraq, saying that kinship and familiarity of Muslim nations with the divine connotations of the holy Quran would prevent such events and treacheries from materializing.

Ayatollah Khamenei also emphasized that Muslim scholars are making significant and valuable progress in their effort to familiarize the people with Quranic concepts.

On Saturday, the Leader warned against enemy plots to provoke sectarian conflicts among Shia and Sunni Muslims in the region to undermine the wave of Islamic Awakening.

“Today, the enemy is investing in civil wars in the region and pins hope on a Shia-Sunni war to relieve itself of the concern of Islamic Awakening,” the Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the ongoing crisis in Iraq and stated that the remnants of the ousted regime of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein and a bunch of ignorant people are perpetrating crimes in that country.

Supreme Leader Meets with Families of Martyrs of the 7th of Tir

Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, met Saturday morning with families of martyrs of the 7th of Tir, families of martyrs of Tehran and disabled war veterans. Speaking at the meeting, His Eminence stressed the need of society and the country to understand and follow up the message of the martyrs.

Referring to the events in Iraq, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution said: "What is happening in Iraq is the war between terrorism and lovers of the west, and the opponents of terrorism and supporters of the independence of nations."

Ayatollah Khamenei described the 7th of Tir as the arena of complete disgrace for those who claim to support human rights, adding: "Since then, the perpetrators of that crime and the agents of murdering thousands of Iranians have been enjoying the support of westerners and in the present time, they are being welcomed in the U.S. Congress and other governmental organizations of that country."

His Eminence reiterated: "While those who claim to support human rights receive with open arms the agents of bloody terror against the people of Iran, the Islamic Republic of Iran - which is a victim of terrorism and the violation of human rights - is accused of such crimes and this is a good standard for evaluating western claims."

Pointing to the bombardment of the Iranian city of Sardasht with chemical weapons- on the seventh of Tir of 1366 by Saddam's Ba'athist regime- he stated: "Despite using chemical weapons against the people of Sardasht and before that the people of Halabja [in Iraq], America and Europe supported the Ba'athist regime for many years. As long as they could use Saddam, they did not oppose him. This is another standard for clarifying the truth of western claims."

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed that the enemies' failures during the past three decades have reinforced their grudge against the people of Iran, saying: "Global arrogant powers - who hate Imam (r.a.), the Revolution and the people of Iran - do not stop hatching plots. For this reason, the people and officials should be completely vigilant and careful."

Ayatollah Khamenei referred to regional events and said: "Today, the enemies of Islam have invested in waging domestic wars within nations so that they can pit people against one another with tribal and denominational excuses."

His Eminence added: "They falsely refer to the events in Iraq as the war between Shia and Sunni, but this war is the war of terrorism against the opponents of terrorism. It is the war of the lovers of America's goals against the supporters of independence of nations. It is the war of human values against brutality and savagery."

Pointing to the efforts of the enemies of Islam for repeating the events of Iraq in other countries, he reiterated: "Nations should vigilantly keep the enemy's activities under surveillance and they should know that the enemy is not afraid of doing anything for the sake of destroying the independence and dignity of Muslims."

He stressed: "By Allah's favor, the dear and brave people of Iran have frustrated the enemy until today with unity, vigilance and foresight. Without a doubt, from now on too, they will frustrate all the attacks and plots of arrogance and the camp of imperialists will finally be defeated in their battle against Islamic Awakening."

Supreme Leader Meets with Judiciary Officials

Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, met Sunday morning with the head and officials of the judiciary branch. Speaking at the meeting, His Eminence stated that cooperation and solidarity among the heads of the three branches of government is necessary and very important.

Referring to the recent developments in Iraq, he said: "It is western imperial powers - headed by America - that act behind the scenes in fueling the fire of fitna in Iraq. The Islamic Republic of Iran expresses its strong opposition to any interference of America in the domestic affairs of Iraq and it believes that the people, government and religious marja of Iraq have the capability to extinguish this fire on their own."

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution reiterated: "I have always advised the heads of the three branches of government to increase their cooperation. This cooperation includes intra-organizational issues as well as the major issues of the country."

Ayatollah Khamenei highlighted the importance of the national interests of the country and added: "The heads of the three branches of government should increase their joint meetings because these meetings enormously help to solve problems, move things forward and resolving complaints."

His Eminence stressed: "One of the main challenges of the country is the serious hostility and opposition of global arrogance towards the Islamic Republic. This reality should be understood and comprehended. If we do not understand the hostility of global arrogance towards ourselves, we will make a mistake in analyzing the issues of the country. Those who are not prepared to see the hostile behavior of the camp of the enemy are like those people who close their eyes to the enemy."

He stated that the main reason behind the hostility of global arrogance towards the Islamic Republic of Iran is the new discourse of the Islamic Republic and the imminent collapse of global arrogance. Referring to the recent developments in Iraq, His Eminence said: "On the issue of Iraq, western imperial powers - particularly, the regime of the United States of America - are trying to take advantage of the ignorance and prejudice of a number of indecisive elements."

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution added: "The main goal of the recent events in Iraq is depriving the people of this country of the achievements that they have made - the most important of which is the rule of democracy - despite the presence and interference of America."

Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated: "America is not satisfied with the current conditions in Iraq - that is to say, holding elections with a high turnout on the part of the people and electing trustworthy candidates - because it is after dominating Iraq and installing obedient persons."

Pointing to the efforts of some American officials who try to describe the recent developments in Iraq as a religious war, His Eminence mentioned: "What has occurred in Iraq is not a war between Shia and Sunni. Rather, global arrogance is trying to shatter peace and tranquility in Iraq and threaten the territorial integrity of this country by using the leftovers of Saddam's regime as the main elements and takfiri elements as infantry."

He added: "The main fight in Iraq is between those people who want to turn Iraq into America's base and those who want to help Iraq achieve independence."

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed that the people of Iraq themselves are capable of confronting and extinguishing this fitna, saying: "We are strongly opposed to the interference of the Americans and other people in the domestic issues of Iraq because we believe that the government, people and religious marja of this country have the capability to end this fitna and by Allah's favor, they will end it."

Ayatollah Khamenei about the book “I’m Alive”

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

I read this book with a dual feeling of sorrow and pride and sometimes, I shed tears when reading it. I was full of praise for the patience, diligence, purity and genuineness depicted in this book. I was also full of praise for the art of the author in embodying beauty and hideousness, joy and sorrow. The memories of the mujahids and prisoners-of-war are great and valuable provisions which enrich history and offer us countless lessons. It is a great service to draw these memories out of people's minds and entrust them to art and drama.

This is one of the works which is worthy of being translated. I would like to send my best regards to the four woman champions of this book, particularly its artful author and narrator.

Supreme Leader Meets with Director and Researchers of Dar-ul Hadith Research Institute

Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution paid a visit Wednesday morning to an exhibition of the scientific and research productions of Dar al-Hadith Institute. At the meeting, an encyclopedia of Mahdaviat was presented to the Supreme Leader.

His Eminence described this encyclopedia as a good example of identifying the shortcomings in this field of research and as a valuable gift to the Islamic and scientific community, further reiterating: "The issue of Mahdaviat and the re-appearance of the Imam of the Age (may God hasten his re-appearance) is God's definite promise. Fulfilling the promises which have been given to mankind in the course of history is in fact, a kind of assurance to humans. So, this great promise will definitely be fulfilled as well."

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution described the victory of the Islamic Revolution as the fulfillment of one of these promises, adding: "Who would have thought that in this very important country and in this very sensitive region - where there is a regime which is completely supported by international powers - a revolution on the basis of religion, fiqh and sharia would be carried out?"

Ayatollah Khamenei stated that belief in the Imam of the Age (a.s.) and the destination of the caravan of mankind in this world is one of the most important parts of the world view of divine religions. He said: "All divine religions believe that the caravan of mankind will reach a favorable and sweet destination in the end and the most important characteristic of this destination is justice."

His Eminence stressed that the caravan of mankind will witness a promising end, saying: "The wait for the re-appearance of the Imam of the Age (a.s.) will be a promising and revitalizing wait. The spirit of waiting is one of the greatest gates of salvation for the Islamic community."

His Eminence stressed that strengthening relations between Kuwait and Iraq is to the advantage of the region, saying: "On the issue of the developments in Syria, the Islamic Republic of Iran will accept whatever decision the people of Syria make."

Referring to the danger that takfiri groups have caused, he stated: "Unfortunately, a number of regional countries are not aware of the danger that takfiri groups will cause for them in the future and they are still supporting these groups."

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution added: "In the present time, a number of regional countries are supporting the crimes of takfiri groups in Syria with their assistance. But in the not too distant future, these groups will be the ruin of the countries which are supporting them and in the end, they will have to destroy them by paying a high price."

Elsewhere in his statements, Ayatollah Khamenei pointed to the economic and financial relations between Iran and Kuwait and reiterated: "The ground is prepared to develop the economic relations between the two countries. A new page in the economic relations of Iran and Kuwait should be opened."
