Supreme Leader Meets Hajj Officials

(2012/09/24)

Ayatollah Khamenei the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution met this morning with officials in charge of hajj affairs. Speaking at the meeting, His Eminence referred to the anti-Islam film which insults the Holy Prophet of Islam (s.w.a.) and said that this year's hajj ceremonies enjoy particular importance. He stressed: "Unity of the Islamic Ummah, which is centered on the Last Prophet (s.w.a.) and expression of Muslims' deep hatred and anger at the camp of the arrogant powers, should manifest itself during hajj in a beautiful and impressive way. And this is the true meaning of renouncing polytheists."

Ayatollah Khamenei said that the insult against the Holy Prophet (s.w.a.) by the arrogant powers and their agents shows that the enemies and the camp of the arrogant powers bear deep grudges against the Holy Prophet of Islam (s.w.a.). He added: "The position that western politicians adopted on this great insult was not different from their typical hostile positions."

His Eminence reiterated: "The insult against the Holy Prophet of Islam (s.w.a.) and the position that leaders of the arrogant powers adopted in this regard, revealed their true face and the main pivot of the confrontation between the camps of truth and falsehood. It became clear that enmity of the arrogant powers is because of the Holy Prophet (s.w.a.) and the essence of Islam."

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution referred to the widespread protests in Islamic and non-Islamic countries against the insulting film, further adding that the protests show the Islamic Ummah enjoys great capacities.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that respect for the Holy Prophet (s.w.a.) is what followers of different Islamic denominations have in common. "As far as the Holy Prophet (s.w.a.) is concerned, the differences between Shia and Sunni Islam or between moderate and radical Islam fade into insignificance. Everybody has stepped in with all their heart and soul because the Holy Prophet (s.w.a.) is the pivot of divine and Islamic beliefs."

His Eminence stressed the need to preserve Islamic unity which is centered on the personality of the Holy Prophet of Islam (s.w.a.) and on expressing hatred towards his enemies, further adding: "Renouncing polytheists means that Muslims should feel they are faced with the same enemy and they should renounce this enemy from the bottom of their hearts."

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution referred to the high spiritual position of the Holy Prophet (s.w.a.) and stated: "Muslims should uphold what was promoted by the Holy Prophet (s.w.a.) - namely, monotheism, Islam and the Holy Quran - and they should turn hajj into a manifestation of expressing love and respect for him."

Ayatollah Khamenei called on the Islamic Ummah to remain vigilant against the enemies' dangerous plots which are aimed at fomenting discord among Muslim protestors. "The enemies of religion and the arrogant powers should know that in spite of certain denominational and ideological differences that exist among Muslims, the Islamic Ummah is united against them."

His Eminence stressed: "We must not allow the camp of the arrogant powers to save itself from the rage of the Islamic Ummah by resorting to the technique of fomenting discord."

Elsewhere in his statements, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that hajj is an obligation which is imbued with divine remembrance and added that hajj is one of the best opportunities to engage in divine remembrance and solemn praying.

Ayatollah Khamenei urged hajj pilgrims to strengthen their relationship with Muslims from different countries by stressing what they have in common and by observing the Is lamic code of behavior.

Supreme Leader Urges Action Against Anti-Islam Film

17.9.2012

Ayatollah Khamenei the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution attended a graduation ceremony at Imam Khomeini Naval Academy in Noshahr. Speaking during the ceremony, His Eminence referred to the recent American-made film which insults the Holy Prophet of Islam (s.w.a.) and stressed: "We do not insist on proving that certain people or government officials were involved in this crime, but the behavior and methods of the leaders of the arrogant powers, American politicians and certain European countries have caused peoples of the world to point the finger of blame at them. They should prove that they were not an accomplice in this great crime and they cannot do so by simply denying their involvement. They should prove their innocence with actions. They should prevent such transgressions."

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the enemies of Islam are frustrated in the face of the Iranian nation and the wave of Islamic Awakening, further adding: "The great wave of Islamic Awakening is what causes them to do such idiotic things."

His Eminence said that the protests against the anti-Islam film are a lesson that will go down in history and added: "They reason that because of their respect for freedom of expression, they cannot prevent people from committing such great sins. Who would believe this in the world? In the countries where there are specific red lines that help maintain the principles of their arrogant power, in the countries where they seriously enforce these red lines and use force to stop people from violating them, who would believe that in those countries, government officials feel obligated to respect freedom of expression when it comes to insulting what is held sacred in Islam?"

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution referred to anti-Islamic motives of the arrogant powers and added: "It is because of these motives that the arrogant powers have not prevented people from insulting what is held sacred in Islam and they will not do so in the future either."

Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated: "Today in many western countries, nobody dares question the Holocaust whose nature is questionable. According to the reports I have received, in America if people decide to write something against homosexuality on the basis of psychological and sociological principles, they will be prevented from publishing their work. How is it that these people feel obligated to respect freedom of expression?"

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the Americans support dictators and added: "Nobody would believe that the American regime is a supporter of democracy, a regime that supported a person like Hosni Mubarak for thirty years and a person like Mohammad Reza Pahlavi for thirty five years in spite of all those crimes he committed in Iran."

Ayatollah Khamenei said that the popular protests in front of American emb assies in different countries are a sign that peoples of the world deeply hate the policies of the arrogant powers and the Zionists. He reiterated: "Governments do not protest because of certain considerations, but peoples cannot tolerate this any longer. Whenever they find an opportunity like this, they protest against centers affiliated with America, against America's social and political centers in different countries. They hate America."

At the end of his statements, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed: "The confrontation between Islam and the arrogant powers of our time will undoubtedly end with a victory for Islam."
