Leader emphasizes women's role in Islamic Awakening

(2012/07/11)

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, today hailed the status of women and the role played by them in the great Islamic movements, as “unparalleled and unique.”

He was addressing over a thousand and five hundred women activists from some 85 countries, including lady intellectuals, researchers and journalists, who have assembled in Tehran for World Conference on Women and Islamic Awakening.

According to IRIB, he referred to the outstanding precedent set by women in Iran during the crucial days of the victory of the Islamic Revolution and its aftermath, said continuation, strengthening and promotion of women's active presence in the Islamic Awakening movements sweeping the region, would undoubtedly be a booster for further success of Muslim countries.

Ayatollah Khamenei considered this great assembly in the Iranian capital of elite and intellectual ladies fr om almost half the world countries, as an excellent opportunity for better familiarity among Muslim women of various lands, saying: "This opportunity of better interaction at the meeting should be seized upon as a factor for long-lasting and more effective works to help restore the real identity and personality of Muslim women.

He referred to the more than a century of intricate ploys by the West to isolate Muslim women from their real Islamic identity, saying that selfless efforts by female intellectuals of the Muslim world to revive this proper identity is in fact the most priceless service for the Islamic Ummah. Ayatollah Khamenei added that this movement, in part, will profoundly affect the Islamic Awakening currents, in addition to reviving the real dignity and glory of the Ummah.

He censured the West for its insulting views toward women, saying that in the western society, women are looked upon as mere means of pleasure and enjoyment for men under cover of the ill-defined word 'freedom', which along with such terms as human rights and democracy, is a handy tool for military deployment, invasions, massacres and looting of world nations through different ways.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, expounding the standpoint of Islam toward women as in total contrast with that of the West, said Islam considers women as persons with the highest dignity and a source of progress and perfection.

Meantime, the Leader cautioned that Global Arrogance, the US and the Zionist regime in particular, which have found themselves transfixed and shocked vis-à-vis the great Islamic Awakening movements, are feverishly trying to deviate these movements, while surfing on the waves in pursuit of their own vested interests.

He, however, reiterated that the spirit of resistance of the people and their ever-increasing presence on different scenes of the struggle, would guarantee victory over the arrogant forces, since their swords are blunt and ineffective when faced by the massive presence of the faithful people.

Ayatollah Khamenei, elaborating on the West's vain attempts to drive a wedge between the Islamic Republic and the helpless Palestinian people, made it clear that Iran’s Islamic Will, free from any divisive and trivial subject as Shiite-Sunni differences, have steadfastly stood besides all Muslim brothers.

Leader calls for harmony among 3 branches of government

27.6.2012

Islamic Revolution Leader lauded the services of the three branches – Executive, Legislature and the Judiciary - and said that they must patch up differences and work in unison.

Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks in a meeting with senior officials of the Judiciary on the occasion of the anniversary of a terrorist attack in 1981 against senior officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran which led to martyrdom of 72 statesmen including the then Judiciary chief Ayatollah Mohammad Beheshti.

Islamic Revolution Leader honored memory of Ayatollah Beheshti and other martyrs of the terrorist attack and said that the Islamic Republic of Iran advocates fair justice to be administered by the Judiciary to eradicate corruption.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that there are capaci ties available to help upgrade the Judiciary and efforts must be made to achieve the great goal of upholding justice by the Judiciary.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that the Judiciary needs infrastructure to accurately administer justice including a comprehensive plan with precise and multilateral considerations.

The Leader said that drawing up the comprehensive plan is a major step and it must be put into practice to meet the needs.

“Implementing the comprehensive plan must be accelerated. Of course, it does not mean making haste, but, the plan must be done without delay.”

Elsewhere in his speech, Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized the need for accuracy of the verdicts being issued by the courts of justice and said that the verdicts must be well-documented in a way the judge of court would rest assured if other lawyers examine his sentence.

Islamic Revolution Leader said that the verdicts of primary courts are revoked by the appeals courts numerou sly indicating that the preliminary verdicts are not well-established.

Ayatollah Khamenei called for reducing the number of verdicts which envisage prison terms and recommended the Judiciary to minimize the punishments in the form of prison term, because, prison has adverse consequences on the inmates, their families and the business environment as well.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that the Judiciary must preserve prestige of the defendants, criticizing the media hype against the defendants.

“The Judiciary must not be influenced by the media propaganda at all.”

On the hostile policies of the western governments against Iran, the Leader said that they are used to tarnishing the image of the Islamic Republic in an attempt to prevent other nations from following Iran's policy of achieving independence and democracy based on Islamic values.

“When a lively democratic election is held in Iran with high turnout, the arrogant powers begin to find fault with it to mislead other Muslim nations.”

Ayatollah Khamenei said that they resorted to human rights and nuclear energy to undermine the standing of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the international community.

“They embark on misleading the world public opinion against the Islamic Republic of Iran in the name of the international community.”

Ayatollah Khamenei said that the arrogant powers have resorted to sanctions to make the Iranian people turn away from the Islamic Republic of Iran, but, God willing they will fail in their new conspiracy, because, they have not really known the depth of relationship between the Iranian nation and government.

Prior to the Islamic Revolution Leader’s remarks, Judiciary chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani presented a report on the performance of the Judiciary.

Amoli Larijani said that the Judiciary has focused on two principles recommended by the Islamic Revolution Leader – Authority of the Judiciary and Public Confidence.

He said that the Judiciary has drawn up a comprehensive plan to administer justice, and campaign against corruption and smuggling, adding that the Judiciary has also promoted the Islamic human rights.

Hegemony's undue expectations go nowhere

(2012/06/18)

Human community nowadays is in dire need of a "resurrection of intellect" and "purification of soul," Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei said Monday in a ceremony held to mark the anniversary of Mab'ath, the auspicious appointment of the Last Messenger of Allah, Hadhrat Muhammad (S.A.) to his divine mission.

Ayatollah Khamenei congratulated the Islamic Ummah on the auspicious Eid, adding that a return of the Muslim nations to pure Islam during the current movements in the Middle East and North Africa shows the nations have eventually realized after prolonged frustrations that all Western or Eastern schools of thought fail to meet human's true needs or make it prosperous except Islam.

Ayatollah Khamenei said human community today was lagging in thought and morality whereas a major goal of the Mab'ath was to rescue human being from moral degradation. "Nation s would see their problems resolved once and for all once the goal is fulfilled," the IR Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei said another major goal of Mab'ath was to revive human thought and intellect, adding that the human community was in dire need of ration and thought in order to find the root-causes of the problems that have befallen it.

Ayatollah Khamenei touched on the blatant tyranny of bullying powers in the region and said that the bullying powers never pay any attention to the status of human. "For instance, amid the current economic problems, the world people are witnessing that that domineering power only seek to resolve the problems of bankers or corporations rather than those of people," the IR Leader said.

"The root-cause of all these problems is the world hegemony and its dividing of world into the two opposite poles of domineering versus domineered countries," Ayatollah Khamenei said, adding tha t the nations can resolve the existing problems by abandoning their domineered position.

The Islamic Revolution Leader warned that the world bullies had embarked on relentless efforts to control or divert the regional revolutions. He called on the revolutionary nations to rely on their God-given intellect, believe in God's promises and decide their fate by resisting against the bullies.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the present dignified status of the Iranian nation was a clear proof that perseverance and resistance against the world bullies would result in dignity and grandeur.

"In the past 33 years, the savvy Iranian nation has been subject to non-stop conspiracies of the world powers; they have actually sought not to allow Iran to become a live model of perseverance and progress for other nations," Ayatollah Khamenei said, adding, "this time as well, the ongoing efforts of the domineering powers for sid elining the Iranian nation would fail indeed."

Ayatollah Khamenei added however that God's promises would be fulfilled only once the nations engage in political and social diligence and take risks. "Just having faith in God is not enough for cherishing His promise of victory, rather diligence and patience are required," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

Ayatollah Khamenei advised the enemies of the Islamic Iran to get lessons from their futile experiences in the face of the diligent, patient Iranian nation and realize that undue expectations or vanity would go nowhere in the face of a nation that has found itself and learnt perseverance and unity from the Holy Koran.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the world of Islam was in dire need of unity, adding that enemies of Islam were seeking to make Muslim Shias and Muslim Sunnis to be afraid of one another.

The IR Leader castigated those individuals within t he Muslim community whose conduct proves divisive, adding that some individuals who categorically have no faith in Islam were setting off the fire of division upon demand of the spy services of the world hegemony by expressing concerns about expansion of Shiism.

Ayatollah Khamenei expressed hope the Islamic Ummah in God's favor would prevail over its enemies and that the goals of Mab'ath would be fulfilled in full.

(2012/06/13)

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that the new parliament is expected to adhere to constitutional principles through lively performance and observing political, ethical and financial honesty.

In a meeting with members of new parliament, the Islamic Revolution Leader said that the MPs must have a sense of commitment, faithful obligation to and reliance on the God Almighty.

"If such a mentality prevails, the blessings

of God will open the way out of the current difficulties. "

Ayatollah Khamenei said that reliance upon the endless grace of God is the key to the power and progress of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

"In the chaotic materialistic world the Islamic Republic of Iran has stood up to defend the divine values and the MPs must reinforce their relationship with Almighty God as the key to progress."

Ayatollah Khamenei said that the policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to establish religious democracy has made the arrogant powers confront with the Iranian nation and government.

Elsewhere in his speech, the Islamic Revolution said that the parliament is responsible for passing adequate legislations and exercise supervision to ensure the legislation takes effect.

"In supervising the state of affairs, the parliament must get rid of taking partial stand. Such supervision requires in-depth examination of the affairs. Otherwise, it will go the wrong way."

Ayatollah Khamenei said that the parliament must adopt a clear stance on international and regional issues and declare its view about the major national issues.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that the parliament

is expected to take unified stance with the government on national issues and refrain from discord with the government in the name of independence of the legislature.

Islamic Revolution Leader criticized certain senior officia ls for escalating dispute with other branches of the governing system despite they publicize unity.

Imam Khomeini, father of Islamic Awakening

(2012/06/03)

"The Iranian nation has successfully displayed how a nation may advance free from the dominance of global hegemonies," Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei said, adding that the hegemony-free model of progress was developed under the auspices of the father of Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini (PBUH).

Ayatollah Khamenei was speaking to hundreds of thousand of people in Imam Khomeini's mausoleum, south of Tehran in a ceremony to commemorate the 23rd demise anniversary of the late founder of Islamic Republic of Iran.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the Imam was the father of the current Islamic movement in the world of Islam, adding that national dignity was a key line in his political agenda.

"Glory and dignity in view of the Holy Koran belongs to God as well as anyone who stands the line of God," the Islamic Revolution Leader said, adding that having been dignified under the auspices of the Imam, the Iranian nation discovered its innate abilities and saw many Divine promises fulfilled, including the prevailing of the under-privileged over domineering powers.

In the same regard, Ayatollah Khamenei said the 1979 Islamic Revolution helped put an end to two centuries of miserly indignity on the part of the Iranian nation, adding that Imam Khomeini imbued the nation's heart with a "yes, we can" mindset.

Ayatollah Khamenei called the Islamic Republic a seasoned, accomplished model of national dignity and progress, adding that the nation has overcome any political, military, security, or economic challenges put up against the Islamic system in the past 33 years since establishment.

Ayatollah Khamenei noted that enemies of the Islamic Revolution were actually afraid of a model of government presented by the nation to the world unlike their claims otherwi se. "Aggrandizement and propaganda works by the world political circles about the 'perils of a nuclear Iran' are merely a deceit; they are actually afraid of an "Islamic Iran" rather than a "nuclear Iran," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

"The fact that a nation (Iranian nation) has proved it possible to get progress without the help of America or other powers and even against their challenges has shaken the pillars of the superpowers," Ayatollah Khamenei said, adding that sanctions would never stop the nation's progress and that the sanctions would only contribute to produce more hatred on the part of the nation against the western powers.

Ayatollah Khamenei then raised the case of regional Islamic awakening, saying that the regional revolutions from Yemen to Bahrain to Egypt, Libya, and Tunisia was a solid proof that the nations were seeking to cherish dignity, justice and freedom under the auspices of Islam and that their revolutions h as an Islamic character.

The Islamic Revolution Leader cautioned that the west and its puppet regimes were trying to make the revolutionary nations to perceive their revolutions were useless, adding however that unlike those western claims, the political and social situation on the ground has effectively changed due to the revolutions and that greater changes were forthcoming.

Ayatollah Khamenei described Egypt as a great country with an influential nation, adding that former corrupt rulers had stolen the Egyptian nation's dignity by turning it into a strategic treasure for the usurping Israel however today the treasure has been recovered from the Zionist usurpers.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the Mubarak regime was tasked to guarantee the Israeli security even at the cost of imprisoning one and a half million people in Gaza during the 22-day Israeli war on the besieged enclave however, today, with Mubarak oust ed, the Zionist regime feels naked and goes upset.

The Islamic Revolution Leader said a military hue and cry made by the Zionist authorities against Iran actually exposed their empty hands and fearful state, adding that the regime's authorities are well aware that they are now more vulnerable than ever so that any inappropriate action on their part would lash back down on themselves like thunders.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the US and other western powers, as unconditional supporters of the Zionist regime were suffering much unfavorable conditions nowadays due to their economic and social problems, adding that the crisis has become more tangible after the falling from power of several pro-US governments across Europe as well as an ever increasing hatred on the part of nations against the US.

Ayatollah Khamenei cautioned that the west seeks to transfer its own crisis to Asia and Africa, adding that a major western method to transfer its problems was to incite sectarian and religious strife in the Middle Eastern and North African revolutionary countries with a view to develop a counter-movement from inside the very revolutions.

"Today, Americans have embarked on inciting sectarian and religious conflicts in the revolutionary countries by using the British experiences in such fields; all the nations and their scholars, either Shii or Sunni, must be vigilant not to advance the enemy conspiracy," Ayatollah Khamenei urged.

Ayatollah Khamenei reaffirmed however that stability will be restored to the revolutionary countries, especially Egypt and that any dictator regimes will be uprooted from the region.

Ayatollah Khamenei deplored that amid these developments the Bahraini people were suffering double innocence. "The Bahraini people are simply repressed by a despotic, dictator regime only because they wish to cherish th e rudiments of democracy," the Islamic Revolution Leader said.

The Islamic Revolution Leader said that all the revolutionary nations would eventually fulfill their goals only if they avoid sectarian or religious conflicts

Ayatollah Khamenei concluded his remarks by saying that the future of Muslim nations, including the Iranian nation would be better than past, indeed.
