Regional movements, anti-US, anti-Zionist in nature

(2011/06/30)

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei in a meeting with Iranian authorities and a large group of people Thursday congratulated the auspicious Eid of Mab'ath, the appointment of Last Messenger of Allah Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) to his divine mission, and described the appointment as the greatest blessing of God and the day as the most blessed day of year.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the current Islamic awakening was a movement in the path of the Messenger and that Muslim nations would not allow Americans and Zionists to divert the great movement or ride it through sowing differences.

The IR Leader said the 23-year mission of the Last Messenger left a determining, profound and progressive effect on the history and fate of human being, adding that the Messenger (PBUH) during the short period of his mission founded a society based on faith, rationality, jihad and dignity to which human civilizations are indebted.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the problems of the past and present of the Islamic Ummah were due to Muslims' ingratitude towards the blessing, adding that if Muslim nations enhance their faith in heart and practice, cherish human rationality, pursue jihad in political, military, economic and cultural fields and value their human dignity, they would certainly attain their deserved position.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the current developments in the North Africa and the Middle East showed the Muslim nations have paid attention to the blessing of Islam. "The Islamic awakening in Egypt, Tunisia and other countries show that the oppressive equation the west and their puppet rulers had imposed on the regional nations in the past 150 years has been collapsed and a new era has opened in the history of the regional nations," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

The IR Leader said the future of the regional developments were bright, adding that the arrogant powers were trying to deny the reality and hide the Islamic aspect of the developments. "Americans, Zionists and their followers in the region have been using all their capacities to divert the great movement of the nations and re-impose the previous oppressive equations by bringing to power their puppet elements; However, once a nation is awakened and stands by the field, it could no more be defeated," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

Ayatollah Khamenei urged the world of Islam to keep vigilance against the efforts and complicated plans of the US and the Zionist regime against the nations, adding however that the Islamic awakening would remain in place.

The IR Leader touched on different plots of the enemies of Islam against the Islamic Revolution, including discord, infiltration, assassinations, sectarian and religious differences, and imposition of war against the nation, adding that the Global Arrogance would repeat the plots or similar ones against the awakened Muslim nations.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the Muslim nations can defeat the plots by avoiding argument over trivial issues, avoiding sectarian and religious differences and understanding the significance of the historical movement.

Ayatollah Khamenei underscored Iran's support to any justice-seeking and anti-Arrogance movement, adding that anywhere, a movement takes place against the US and Zionism and any nation which rises up against the US international dictatorship and internal dictators it would enjoy the support of the Iranian nation.

Ayatollah Khamenei then warned that the US, in a complicated plot, tries to create problems for Syria, as a country belonging to line of regional resistance, by simulating the developments of Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen and Libya in the country. The IR Leader said the Syrian incidents were different in nature from other regional developments.

The Islamic Revolution Leader said the nature of regional Islamic awakening was anti-US and anti-Zionist while in Syria, the hand of the US a nd Zionists was clearly seen. "The logic of the Iranian nation is that anywhere slogans are chanted in favor of the US and Zionists, that is a deviant move," the IR Leader said.

Touching on the innocence of the Bahrain nation, Ayatollah Khamenei said the Bahraini people's movement was similar to the Egyptian, Tunisian and Yemeni movements. Ayatollah Khamenei regretted that some individuals were following the wishes of enemies of Islam instead of heeding the wishes of their nations.

Leader: Media avoid unfounded accusations

(2011/06/27)

Elsewhere in his address, Ayatollah Khamenei said that public trust in the Islamic Republic requires to respect prestige of chiefs of the three branches of government --the Executive, Legislature and the Judiciary.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that it is illogical to cast doubt on the reports being delivered by the chiefs of thr ee branches of government.

IR Leader acknowledged the services of the three branches of government and said that challenging the reports about the services and activities and statistical figures for political rivalry would damage the public trust and it is harmful to the national interest.

In the meantime, Ayatollah Khamenei marked anniversary of terrorist operation by the terrorist grouplet of Mujahedeen Khalq in 1981 which martyred 72 senior officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran including the chief justice Ayatollah Mohammad Beheshti.

The Iranian devoted people are to attain their prime goals and always ready to deal with bullying powers, colonialists and dictators, underlined the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

IR Leader commended services of the judiciary to restore law and order and examine various crimes including the campaign against drug and arms traffickers, corrupt people, and those accused of harassing females.

(2011/06/26)

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei said in a meeting with Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir Sunday that the ongoing popular movements in the region were a start to a major change in Islamic countries. He expressed hope a strong Islamic alliance would form in the near future in North Africa.

Ayatollah Khamenei expressed pleasure with the Islamic awakening in Egypt, Tunisia, and Libya and said the popular movements were against the wishes of the West and the Zionists. The IR Leader urged vigilance against any western efforts which aim to divert the natural route of the popular movements.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the West could reap no fruits from the regional developments in the short run however Muslims must keep alert about any deviation in the movements.

Ayatollah Khamenei then highlighted the Egyptian developments. "US and Zionist regime's bastion in Egypt has collapsed; The US and certain puppet reg imes of the region are now trying to divert the track of movements to a destination otherwise," the IR Leader said, adding that history has shown individuals and revolutionary movements might lose their initial mood in the pass of time.

Turning to the Libyan developments, Ayatollah Khamenei expressed concern about the trend of developments in the country, adding that the Libyan movement has been a genuine popular uprising while the west is hell bent on blocking the path of people to victory.

"The west is in fear about possible formation of an Islamic government in Libya at the doorstep of Europe," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

Concerning the Sudanese developments, Ayatollah Khamenei said the Islamic Republic of Iran supports the Islamic government and the nation of Sudan which are determined to safeguard their independence, Islamic ideology, and sovereignty.

The IR Leader appreciated the Sudanese nation and government for standing against the US and Zionist regime's pressures and conspiracies. The IR Leader urged all parties and factions in Sudan to keep vigilance and remain united in the face of the ongoing developments.

In the meeting, also attended by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Sudanese president described Iran-Sudan ties as solid.

Umar al-Bashir thanked the Islamic Republic for its supports to the nation and said the Sudanese nation and government have endured the western pressures and keep hope in the future.

The Sudanese president termed the ongoing regional developments positive and facilitative for the Islamic countries, adding that the region would never return to previous conditions and the US and the Zionist regime have been top losers of the developments.

'Fight against terrorism, unavoidable duty'

(2011/06/25)

In a message to the International Conference on the Global Fight against Terrorism, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei referred to hegemonic powers' history of terrorist acts and their support for the terrorist Zionist regime and their long list of monetary and propaganda support for organized terrorists and at the same time their claim of fighting terrorism, stressing: "One of the main duties of the current meeting is providing a clear and precise definition of terrorism and the Islamic Republic of Iran considers the fight with this evil phenomenon as unavoidable responsibility and will continue with strength its efforts in this great fighting."

The full text of the Leader’s message reads as follows:

"It gives me great pleasure to express to you all my sincere welcome and utmost appreciations for your participation in this important gathering to discuss and examine terrorism which has turned t o be one of the most disastrous phenomena in the world community.

"Undoubtedly, meetings and events like this must continue to prepare a conducive ground for a conscious determination and sincere efforts at the global level, leading God willing, to concrete actions in dealing with this painful phenomenon.

"Our trust in divine wisdom and guidance further motivates us to pursue our efforts in cooperation and in harmony with all those who dedicate themselves with a strong sense of responsibility to play a part in such humanitarian campaigns.

"Terrorism is not a new phenomenon. It is not a product of recent periods. However the emergence of horrific weapons of mass destruction has made it hundreds of times more dangerous.

"More shockingly and important is the calculations of satanic world powers, which use terrorism in their policies and planning to achieve their illegitimate goals. Historical memories in the minds of nations in our region will never forget how colonial powers planned to occupy Palestine and expel Palestinian people form their homeland, by organizing and arming terrorist organizations such as the Zionism International Agency and tens of similar groups which committed those horrendous crimes in Dair Yassin and in other places.

"The Zionist regime, since the very beginning of its creation until now, has continued shamelessly and openly its terrorist acts outside and inside Palestine. Both the former and incumbent leaders of the Zionist regime feel proud of their terrorist background and in some cases, of their direct involvement in terror operations.

"Another example is the United States that has a long list of terrorist behaviors by financing and arming terrorist organizations in the region. The deadly attacks of American drones against defenseless families in villages and in the most deprived areas of Afghanistan have turned, many times, weddings into mourning ceremonies.

"Crimes by the Black Water in Iraq, killing Iraqi citizens and elites, assisting terrorist groups in Iran, Iraq and in Pakistan, assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists in cooperation with Mossad, shooting down Iran's passenger aircraft in the Persian Gulf that left 300 men, women and children killed are part of this shameful and unforgettable list of American acts of terrorism.

"The United States, Britain and some Western governments, with a black record of terrorist behaviors, have now added to their rhetoric the claim of fighting terrorism. They are the same terrorists, who during 1980s, massacred thousands of innocent people in Iran. They killed 72 of Iranian senior officials, academic figures, and scores of parliamentarian in a single act of terrorism.

"In another terrorist act, our president and prime minister were martyred and the perpetrators of these terror attacks are now living in some European countries under the protection of European governments. With such behaviors, it is a shame to claim to be leadi ng the fight against terrorism.

"Meanwhile the Untied States and its allies call Palestinian freedom fighters as terrorists, a deceitful definition which constitutes the basic problem of terrorism in the present world.

"From the standpoint of the leaders of hegemonic powers, everything that threatens their illegitimate interests is viewed as terrorism. All struggles intended to defend a cause against the occupiers and interventionist forces are regarded by them as terrorism.

"But they never call those evil forces and evil cells that are a plague against the life and security of innocent people as terrorists.

A clear and exact definition of terrorism can be one of your fundamental works and objectives in the present meeting.

"By relying on the noble teachings of Islam with its underlying principles for human dignity, where the loss of an innocent life is considered the loss of the entire humanity, and as a nation which has suffered heavy losses on the part of violent terrorism we believe that the fight against this evil phenomenon is an unavoidable responsibility, and by the grace of Allah we remain dedicated to continue this great fight with greater force."

Ayatollah Khamenei concluded that the efforts made by the Iranian experts in the army forces would foil the sanctions against Iranian nation.

IR Leader warns about West's cultural onslaught

(2011/06/13)

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei in a meeting with members of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution said culture defines the identity of any nation and that the council must play the role of strategic policymaking in the confrontation against the complicated cultural onslaught of the world arrogance.

“The culture and identity of a nation and its orientation can be identified through such indexes as its beliefs, ethical values, rituals, individual and social behaviors, and national traits,” the IR Leader said.

“If a nation looks advanced in appearance but suffers unruly and indecent cultural and spiritual aspects, it would be a bankrupt nation. But a nation with a rich culture, even if facing certain political and economic problems, is potentially a mighty nation,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

The Leader of Islamic Revolution then reminded the audience of his description several years ago of the Western culture's arrival in other countries as a cultural onslaught. "At that time, some individuals asked themselves why a military expression was used in reference to a cultural issue. However if due attention is paid to the status quo of the world culture it would be noted that a massive and complicated onslaught is at work.”

“Given the immense communicational developments in the world today, the cultural war has turned into a battle with various complicated dimensions,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

“The extend of the cultural onslaught affects the entire world but the main target is the Islamic Republic as it has been standing against the hegemonic system and proved it is capable of dealing with the battle,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

Ayatollah Khamenei said Iran could win the battle by expansion and deepening of the Islamic Revolution’s cultural mindset in such fields as ethical values, individual and social behaviors, religious beliefs and political issues.

Ayatollah Khameneie said that the present generation of the Islamic Revolution’s youth was a pious, revolutionary, and aware one. “I strongly believe in this generation and its manifestations of faith and belief, as well as its wise political presence,” he said.

Palestine belongs to Muslims in its entirety

(2011/06/04)

The faithful Iranian people showed adherence Saturday to the sublime aspirations of the late founder of Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, and renewed their allegiance with his successor, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei in a ceremony to commemorate the 22nd anniversary of the demise of the late leader.

Ayatollah Khamenei in the ceremony outlined the characters of the current Islamic awakening in the region and said Imam Khomeini's prediction came true during the regional uprisings. Ayatollah Khamenei said the school of the late Imam was founded on the three elements of spirituality, rationality and justice.

The Islamic Revolution Leader said the 22nd anniversary was coincided with the epic Islamic awakening of the regional nations so that the forecast of the divine man came true.

Ayatollah Khamenei called the school of the Imam as a great legacy for the Iranian nation, adding that the Iranian nation by the legacy coul d pass through hard terrains of the past 32 years and will pass in the future.

The IR Leader pointed to waves of pure affections poured by the nation in memory of the late Imam, adding however that the profound faith of the Iranian nation in the late Imam went beyond the heart felt affection to convene their adherence in the clear school of Imam.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the three elements of spirituality, rationality and justice which formed the school of Imam should be considered altogether so as to avoid any deviations from the path.

Ayatollah Khamenei noted that the late Imam was a man of ultimate spirituality but at the same time he considered rationality and prudence at any conditions and pursued justice besides the two other elements through the very discourse of Islam and the Holy Koran.

Ayatollah Khamenei said Imam's rationality emerged in his option of "religious democracy" as the platform of the political system of the country, adding that his reliance on the v ote of people in the country after centuries of dictatorial rules points to the rational side of Imam Khomeini's prosperous school of thought.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the late Imam was also rational in his political awareness about the enemies and his solid perseverance against their conspiracies, adding that unlike those who considered it rational to relinquish the field in the face of enemy, Imam considered any withdrawal against the enemy as a grant of opportunity to the enemy for further advance. "For the same reason, he continued to stand against the enemies like a mountain to the end of his life," the IR Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the late Imam also proved to be rational in that he imbued the nation with self-confidence, adding that against a background of relentless efforts of the arrogance and its internal stooges to make the people to feel humiliated and unable, Imam Khomeini put the motto of "we can" in the hearts of the people.

Ayatollah Khamenei said t he exceptional advances of the young Iranian scientists in different industrial and technological spheres were the palpable result of the Imam's rational efforts to revive the moral in the Iranian nation.

Ayatollah Khamenei also described the trend of the formulation of the Constitution as another manifestation of the clear and rational thought of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, saying that the Imam through his precise calculations ceded it to people to choose the board in charge of the formulation of the draft Constitution and to vote to the Constitution afterwards in a nationwide referendum.

Ayatollah Khamenei said in view of Imam, the people are the owners of the country. "Imam, based on his insightful rationality taught people that they are the owners of the country rather than the dictators of the past regimes," the IR Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the late Imam based on his rationality founded so strong a legal, social and political platfo rm on the basis of which a great Islamic civilization can be established.

As for the element of spirituality, Ayatollah Khamenei said Imam strictly observed Islamic ethics in all his conducts and avoided any sins of backbiting, accusations, grudges, vanity and so on. "From the outset, Imam called the authorities to work for the sake of God and avoid looking down on people. He always urged them to welcome criticisms and admit their mistakes," the IR Leader said.

As for the elements of justice, Ayatollah Khamenei said Imam paid a special attention to underprivileged strata of the society and called on the authorities to avoid luxury and instead help the poor people. "The great lessons must never be forgotten," the IR Leader urged. In the same regard, the IR Leader called it a huge plague if the authorities focus on personal welfare and strive to collect wealth.

Ayatollah Khamenei in another regard said the late Imam was insisting that the authorities should be chosen from am ong the people and considered it a big danger if individuals rely on sources of wealth or power in the society in a quest for government posts as it was common during the past dictatorial, royal regimes in Iran.

Ayatollah Khamenei said national and international dignity would be achieved through the school of Imam Khomeini, adding that ignorance of the spiritual side of the Imam's line under the cover of justice seeking or making part of the society insecure in the name of revolutionary intentions are all deviations from the true path of Imam Khomeini.

"If an individual is not seeking subversive goals or enemy directions but also opposes our political inclinations, we must not trample on his or her security as the Holy Koran too advises us not to treat objections with injustice," the IR Leader urged.

Ayatollah Khamenei then turned to the regional developments and said the great Islamic awakening in the Middle East was a significant and fateful incident.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the developments in Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen and Bahrain, each must be given its own special analysis, however, it was a common knowledge in all those developments that whenever a nation becomes awakened and feels powerful, nothing could stop it from victory.

"The world hegemony, the Bigger Satan and the bloodthirsty Zionists seek to block the eventual victory of the nations; However, if the nations get awakened and adhere to the Koranic call of patience and perseverance and have faith in the Divine promises, they will be victorious indeed," the IR Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the West seeks to create a feeble state in Libya as it owns huge oil resources and sits several steps from the Europe. "The West seeks to enfeeble the country and then take its control directly or indirectly," Ayatollah Khamenei said. Ayatollah Khamenei likened the Yemeni conditions to those of Libya.

As for Bahrain, he said the Bahraini people are in sheer innocence while the West and its accomplices have decided to present the Bahraini popular movement as a sectarian move by calling it a "Shia move." "The issue of Bahrain is not that of a Sunni-Shia issue rather the innocent nation calls for its preliminary rights of voting and getting involved in the process of formation of government," the IR Leader deplored.

Ayatollah Khamenei said a liar and deceitful US was active in the repression of the Bahraini people despite its claims of human rights and democracy. "They say the Saudis have went to Bahrain. But everyone knows that the Saudis could not do the thing without the US green light so the Americans too are accountable in the Bahraini developments," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the regional uprisings, especially the bright Egyptian movement, were featured with the three characters of being Islamic, being anti-US and anti-Zionist, and being popular. The Islamic Revolution Leader said the Islamic Republic would support any movement wh ich has the three characters.

"However if we see a movement was provoked by the US or the Zionists we would not side with it as we are sure that the Bigger Satan and its accomplices would not do anything in favor of other nations," the IR Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei urged the regional and the North African nations to be vigilant against the West's conducts, adding that the superficially friendly assistance of the US was actually a way of dominance over other nations. "The regional nations, especially the Egyptian nation relying on their rich Islamic-cultural heritage must be vigilant not to allow an enemy which has already exited from the door to return from the windows," the IR Leader urged.

Ayatollah Khamenei lauded the Egyptian nation for its stance concerning the Palestinian issue, especially in the opening of the Rafah crossing and said the stance must be kept until the objectives of the Egyptian revolution are fully materialized in God's favor.

Ayatollah Khamen ei also warned about an enemy effort to sow discord among the regional nations, especially in Egypt.

Ayatollah Khamenei concluded his remarks by making clear the IRI's stance concerning the Palestinian issue.

"Palestine will not be disintegrated; it belongs in its entirety to Muslims and will return to the lap of Islam indeed," the IR Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the US-designed initiatives in the Palestinian issue were futile and that the solution was the proposal the IRI put forward several years ago, based on which, the type of the regime to rule Palestine should be chosen through a referendum from the original people of the land.

"After the Palestinian nation's desired government was established, the Palestinian people would decide on the fate of the Zionists who have come to the country from outside," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
