Iraq, not a bite for Americans to swallow

2006/11/28

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei Tuesday described the ongoing insecurity in Iraq as the essential source of concern in the country, adding that the unabated insecurity and bloodshed in Iraq proves to be detrimental to all the regional countries.

Ayatollah Khamenei affirmed to a visiting Iraqi President Jalal Talabani that the Islamic Republic of Iran take it as its human and religious duty to help restore stability in Iraq.

Ayatollah Khamenei reaffirmed IRI's call for a secure, advanced and developed Iraq and that it considers the security of the Iraqi cities as its own security.

"In the event that the Iraqi government issues a call, Iran will spare no effort to help restore stability and security in Iraq," Ayatollah Khamenei vowed.

Ayatollah Khamenei cautioned Talabani that the ongoing insecurity is aimed at destabilizing the democratic Iraqi government, adding, "Those who once conspired a ploy for Iraq and then saw it botched are now bent on destabilizing the situation in every possible way through their agents in the field that include terrorists, takfiris (excommunicators) and former Baathists."

Ayatollah Khamenei noted that the perpetrators involved in the Iaqi insecurity conceal their face behind the cover of Shia-Sunni conflict, adding, "The truth is the Shiite and Sunni people have already lived alongside each other for centuries without any internal dispute."

The IR Leader said the Iraqi people are suffering a colossal misery and sorrow from the perpetuated policy of insecurity, adding, "Those involved in the policy are intended to bring a Saddam-like dictator to power but will definitely fail to fulfill their intention."

"Americans by no means would succeed in Iraq and their continued occupation of the country is not a bite for America to swallow," Ayatollah Khamenei underlined.

"A first measure to resolve the problem of insecurity in Iraq is delivering the security affairs to the Iraqi democratic government," Ayatollah Khamenei said emphatically.

Ayatollah Khamenei also urged putting final touches on the mutual agreements between the two countries as a means to broaden bilateral relations.

In the meeting, in which President Mahmoud Ahmainejad was also present, President Jalal Talabani expressed pleasure with his renewed visit to Iran and described the expansion of Tehran-Baghdad relations as beneficial to the two sides as well as the entire region.

Concerning the Iraqi insecurity, Talabani said that the perpetrators behind the Iraqi insecurity are those who are fazed with the existence of a democratic and modern Iraq run by a democratic government.

Talabani revealed that the security affairs are not in control of the Iraqi government and if the Iraqi security is delivered to its own government, full-fledged security can be restored in the country through mobilizing the public forces.

The Iraqi President praised the Islamic Republic of Iran for its aid to the Iraqi people in different stages of the country's developments.

IR Leader hails the military

2006/11/25

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei told a cadetship badge ceremony Saturday that Islam has a different logic to build army from that of the world materialistic rulings, adding, the armed forces in the Islamic Republic of Iran take front in defense of justice, rights of the public and the underprivileged and perform as the strong bulwark of national security and values of Islam and the Revolution.

The Commander-in-Chief dismissed the views of global masters of money and force about building army as a means to seek and maintain power, adding, despite this logic, in an Islamic system, as the armed forces enter military domain, they actually enter worship domain owing to the lofty logic of Islam.

In a ceremony held in Imam Hussein Cadet Academy affiliated to Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) to mark IRI Founder Imam Khomeini's directive to establish Basij Organization, Ayatollah Khamenei said the IRGC was featured by its formation as a follow-up to revolutionary values.

"To continute work, the Guard must command determined persons to defend the nation based on the same revolutionary values even in the absence of the conditions of early revolution and the Sacred Defense," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

Ayatollah Khamenei urged the audience to foster their relations with the Almighty and rely on Him and to promote their intellectual, physical and training skills. "The Armed Forces including the Guard portray the power and resolve of the Iranian nation and their preparedness will force enemies to change their mind and abandon greed over the country.

Early in the ceremony, the Commander-in-Chief paid homage to the martyrs memorial in the premises of the academy and performed the opening chapter of the Holy Qoran in honor of the martyrs. Ayatollah Khamenei then reviewed honor guard.

Ayatollah Khamenei also granted badges to first-ever graduates of the Academy and handed gifts to the war veterans, top cadet officers and dons as well as families of the martyrs of the academy.

Elsewhere, addressing senior commanders, authorities and governors of the IRGC's academies, Ayatollah Khamenei praised the authorities and teachers of Imam Hussein military academy for their significant role in promoting the cadet officers in terms of knowledge and training.

"In this academy, sagacious, knowledgeable, and valiant persons must be trained through due scientific training and by providing grounds for scientific innovation and courage to emerge," the IR Leader underlined.

Ayatollah Khamenei praised the IRGC for its large potentials of revolutionary, faithful and calibered individuals, urging the relevant authorities to keep on their regard for human resources and training matters.

Ayatollah Khamenei then called perfoming military duties as source of honor.

The IR Leader denounced the notion of the pseudo-enlightened in objection to building army as a deviating view, adding that a military trainee with Islamic identity is the one who takes step in the path of a sublime goal with his heart, thought and body and even is ready to donate his body in that path thereby he must not be compared with savage and irresponsible armed forces of America or the Zionist regime and those of the world dominance seekers.

Ayatollah Khamenei reminded the duty of the Guard in preserving the aspirations of the Islamic Revolution, adding that the all-inclusive definition of the duty is established in the armed defense of the evolutionary values.

The Islamic Revolution Leader called on the audience to observe the Guard's requirements in all ranks, adding that all the commanders and forces of the IRGC must take care to meet minimum requirements in every regard

Tehran, Nov 21, IRNA

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei in a meeting with Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe here Tuesday said that a proper way to confront bullying powers is to stand against them, given that withdrawal will not thwart the insatiable appetite of hegemonic powers.

This is while, our attempts to enable people of Zimbabwe to determine their own fate and promotion of peace in Africa is our only sin."

The African president referred to his meeting with the Supreme Leader as a historical opportunity and said, "Despite all the charges raised against us by the West and their attempts, the Zimbabwean government is supported by people and we are determined to continue our campaign against imperialism based on such a support." Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei told a visiting Lebanese Parliament speaker Nabih Berri and a delegation of Lebanese Hezbollah and Amal movements that the victory of the Lebanese Islamic Resistance Movement in the 33-day war against the Zionist regime has provided a source of honor and pride for the Muslims.

"What took place during the 33-day battle against America and the Zionist regime has no antecedent in the world of Arab and Islam and the dimensions of the great and invaluable event will further surface in future," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

Ayatollah Khamenei called Hezbollah Secretary General Sayed Hassan Nasrallah a singular figure and appreciated Nabih Berri for his role during the 33-day resistance, saying, "The stage of the great victory was effectively set by the unity and solidarity among brothers of Hezbollah and Amal." Ayatollah Khamenei urged further strengthening of the unanimous attitude.

The Islamic Revolution Leader warned about possible political ploys by America and the Zionist regime to discourage the effects of the victory in Lebanon, adding the Lebanese people and the Islamic Resistance must keep alert for any potential threat. "However, at present the political awakening in Lebanon and the spirit of people and the Islamic Resistance and their followers in the world of Islam is much higher than before the 33-day war," Ayatollah Khamenei affirmed.

Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized that the enemies of the Lebanese nation suffer from an enfeebled spirit, adding with God's assistance, Lebanon will become the point of defeat of America and the Zionist regime.

IRI in its most favorable status

2006/11/12

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei told warm-blooded people in Garmsar north of Iran Sunday that the Islamic System at present enjoys one of its most favorable moments.

Ayatollah Khamenei lauded the country's political stability, the current favorable social harmony, nation's prudence towards national causes, notably the nuclear issue and expansion of demand for justice, removal of discrimination and corruption.

"Another advantage of the country is a young generation, featured by a tendency towards knowledge as well as religious and revolutionary values," Ayatollah Khamenei said, adding, the existence of this fresh, lively, hopeful and religious-minded generation will pave the ground for progress, innovation and creativity.

Ayatollah Khamenei highlighted the presence of a popular administration in office that keeps adherence to religious values and is minded to serve people, headed by the President Mahmoud Ahamdinejad who loves people, is faithful, lives a modest life, works tirelessly, has a valiant and confident manner, stands ready in the field and holds initiative in internal and international affairs.

"Today, our authorities no longer follow international policy makers concerning diplomatic affairs, rather they have initiative in their hands," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

Ayatollah Khamenei moreover touched on the country's progressive economic indices, adding the President's report weeks earlier about inflation, joblessness rate and combat against corruption was approved by the fair experts and even on many occasions by many international centers that already keep a biased position towards Iran.

Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the promotion of Iran in international ranking in terms of combat against administrative and financial corruption during the last one and a half year, adding, despite the growth, the country must not contend itself with this level.

"Rather, the administrative and financial corruption and betrayal of national wealth must be uprooted in an all-inclusive combat," the IR Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei furthermore appreciated the public hopefulness and tied it to the feelings that the authorities move towards removal of discrimination.

Ayatollah Khamenei called the Iranian people patient, sincere, aware and vigilant, adding, the people have trusted in the authorities whenever they have felt they (authorities) are sincerely after resolving their problems and avoid gathering wealth and attending to their personal affairs.

Ayatollah Khamenei criticized certain press for their unfair attitude towards the administration, saying "some time ago, the president complained about it to me and I believe he is rightful because some press are unfair towards the Administration and try to magnify meager problems through propaganda scams."

Ayatollah Khamenei drew a distinction between criticism and destruction, adding, "Years ago, I warned about the involvement of alien hands in the administration of the country's cultural affairs, media and propagation, but some individuals denied it, but at the end every one admitted to it."

Ayatollah Khamenei ruled out allegations that the country suffers lack of freedom of expression, adding, a clear evidence of freedom of expression is that some press are freely write against the Administration and the System whereas the people pay no attention to them.

The Islamic Revolution Leader appreciated the political position of the country and the social status of the Iranian nation in the world.

The IR Leader said a few years ago, several American politicians claimed in a report that there was a group in Iran who were waiting for a signal from America to topple the system, but at present the reality has been unveiled for the enemies of the Iranian nation, because they cannot take dominance over the country, neither they can inflict damage on the Iranian nation.

Ayatollah Khamenei described the enemy position as shaky, adding America and the Zionist regime are even further shaky compared to the past years. "The slap in the mouth of America and the Zionist regime in Lebanon was a Divine blessing so that the world realizes how the superpowers are fragile."

"The status of affairs has changed in the world and in some areas, previously regarded by America as its courtyard, some administrations come to power which are opposed to American policies," Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized.

"The Iranian nation has opted for the Divine path, that is the path of justice, ethics, good deeds, faith in God, equality, fraternity among human beings and prosperity of the human community, not fazed with ensuing difficulties. As a result the Almighty God will bestow upon it the sweet fruits of such a perseverance," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

Earlier in the day, Ayatollah Khamenei paid homage visit to the martyr cemetery in the city.

Iranian nation, true victor of battle

(2006/11/11)

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei Saturday admired the Iranian nation for hoisting the flag of Islamic movement and grand Islamic slogans that have nestled in the hearts of Muslims and non-Muslims, urging the Iranian nation to offer a perfect example of the Islamic system to the world by building an example Islamic community in which material and scientific progress besides spirituality and ethics ride at a high.

"The lofty idea is possible to meet but subject to the existence of sacrificing, faithful and brave individuals besides an ever-fostering bond between the nation and the government," the IR Leader underlined.

Ayatollah Khamenei brought up enemy attempts to halt the formation of such an Islamic community by their propaganda to frustrate people, especially the youth, and crack the resolve of the authorities, adding, despite all these efforts, the enemies never succeeded during the past 27 years.

The IR Leader emphasized on a brighter and more hopeful future of the Islamic system to be materialized through the strong popular trust and baking in the authorities and their firm will and due planning to resolve the problems.

The Islamic Revolution Leader said the authorities are now further confident to cover difficult routes until achieving the sublime revolutionary aspirations, adding what is currently happening in Iran is unlike the expectations of the enemies and under these conditions, the invaluable goals of the Islamic system are more likely to be materialized more than ever.

Ayatollah Khamenei said an example Islamic system provides for the talents to blossom and administers justice, adding the social justice means to provide to all the social classes the same opportunities to advance and deprive any chances from tyrants and violators.

Ayatollah Khamenei furthermore acknowledged that in the confrontation between the Islamic front and the arrogance and atheism camp, the former have commanded quite a larger share of the victories. The IR Leader attributed global insecurity, conflicts, and lack of calm to imbalance in the progress of science and spirituality in the Western civilization, adding in the Islamic civilization, the material progress is to safeguard security, welfare and calmness for the people so that they live in peace together.

Ayatollah Khamenei then turned to regional issues and tied the awakening of the Palestinian nation and the victory of the Lebanese people and Hezbollah against the advanced but tyrant army of the Zionist regime to the Islamic movement of the Iranian nation and it ensuing awakening in the world of Islam.

"It follows that the international politicians regard the Iranian nation the true victor of the battlegrounds while it had never moved to meddle with the internal affairs of other countries," Ayatollah Khamenei affirmed.

"Their view arose from the fact that the Iranian nation despite all the difficulties could hold on the honorable flag of independence for other nations under the auspices of believing in an only God as well as the last messenger of Allah, Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.) and this is a large source of pride," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

Ayatollah Khamenei lauded Sharood region for hosting religious scholars and prominent ulema, adding, the outstanding feature highlights the faith and spirituality of its residents as well as their adherence to religious and ethical values.

Ayatollah Khamenei confirmed that a nation that recognized its honorable past as well as its indigenous root values would experience a bright future, adding the single most characteristic feature of the Islamic movement was that it could make aware and upbeat the Iranian nation about its identity, capabilities, record and history and tore the fake curtain built by enemies aside from those values.

Human being, victim of self-seekers

(2006/11/11)

Islamic Revolution Leader, Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei told a joint ceremony of Semnan military held in the commanding center of Zolfeqar elite division Saturday evening that the armed forces are from the people, with the people and for the people.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran's armed forces take honor in that they perform whatever relevant to defense of a nation including training, war games, mission of alert, discipline and making necessary equipment by reliance on God and through their deep faith in Him," Ayatollah Khamenei told the ceremony, held north of the country.

Ayatollah Khamenei regretted that human being has fell victim to the malicious goals of the world self-seekers, adding to preserve dignity in such a world, the nation must rely on the will of the youth as well as deep faith the result of which is that the country will enjoy a stable genuine security.

The Commander-in-Chief called the present period a sensitive and fateful one for the Iranian nation. Iranian flair makes every dream come true

(2006/11/10)

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei in the third day of his trip to the northeastern province of Semnan told an enthusiastic gathering of faithful people in the provincial city of Damghan that with such mainstays as the faith, resolve and flair of the Iranian nation all the lofty aspirations of the Islamic Revolution notably justice and removal of discrimination are not out of reach.

Ayatollah Khamenei admired the flag of Islamic and social justice hoisted by the Islamic Republic of Iran and ruled out suggestions by few individuals that with the current widespread injustice in the world and with the corrupt persons and some discriminations inside the country, the social justice can not be materialized.

"As many a superficially unattainable goal early on the revolution was met later, the dream of justice will come true by the resolve of the people, especially the youth," he affirmed.

Early in the Revolution and during the Sacred Defense, when the Islamic System was constrained by the international powers from reaching minimum defensive equipments, no one had imagination that some day the young people of this land could launch an array of modern missiles on their own during a war games alone, however the superficially out of reach dream is now fulfilled.

Ayatollah Khamenei reminded about the threatening of the hegemonic powers against the Iranian people at different junctures apexed in the past years by threats to attack the country, adding, at that time, a majority did not kept imaginations that the arrogance, masterminded by America, would some day concede to the Iranian nation, but now taking the disastrous failure of American policies in Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon and Afghanistan into account, the country's threats are now regarded empty threats throughout the globe.

Ayatollah Khamenei moreover said the failure of the American President party in the latest Congress elections proved that America's war waging policies are not approved within the country, adding the event was not just an American internal affair rather it was the defeat of Bush's war mongering policies.

The IR Leader pointed to American President's late admission to the defeat, adding since Washington had shown hostility and war waging always towards the Iranian nation, the defeat of the policies actually translated into the convincing victory of the Iranian nation in this political phase.

Ayatollah Khamenei then turned to the usurper Zionists' relentless and repressive offensive against the Palestinian defenseless people in Gaza, saying the Zionist regime that lost its 50-year-long military superiority in the 33-day Lebanon war just in the face of a faithful and Mujahid group that was suffering lack of any advanced equipments is now bent on taking revenge from the Palestinian innocent people.

Ayatollah Khamenei touched on the negotiated agreement for the withdrawal of the Zionist military from Gaza, saying the daily crimes of the savage Zionists in Gaza showed once more that negotiation with the usurper regime is useless and hapless.

Ayatollah Khamenei was critical about the reticence kept by the international community and pretenders to human rights in the West, saying the silence of the West, especially the Europe's, towards the massive oppression shows that the lives of the defenseless Palestinian children, women and men have no value for those pretenders to human rights.

Ayatollah Khamenei then raised Damghan provincial issues and praised the honorable record of the city, especially its eminent figures in the fields of science, religious, literature and politics.

The IR Leader commemorated the memory of the provincial martyrs, including the martyr Shahcheraqi and the martyr Momeni.

The Leader acknowledged that the province has experienced an extensive development compared to the past but though enjoying broad human talents and natural resources, it is still grappled with many problems. Ayatollah Khamenei called on the people and the relevant authorities to resolve the problems.

The IR Leader affirmed that in the Islamic Republic System, the authorities are to serve people, adding, at present a lively, quick, industrious, and sincere administration that is minded with public interests has taken the center stage and wherever the possibilities allow it will move to resolve the people's problems.

Earlier, Ayatollah Khamenei paid a visit to Damghan cemetery of martyrs and read the opening chapter of the holy Qoran in tribute to the lofty position of those martyrs.

Elites must run through developments

(2006/11/09)

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei told an academic function in the northeastern province of Semnan Thursday morning that the elites of the seminary and the university must run the country through developments by undertaking both the world standards and at the same time the standards particular to the Islamic system.

Ayatollah Khamenei affirmed that the traits of the student community mainly as its enthusiasm, abundant talent, wishing for progress, hopes in future and readiness for work bode well, urging the students to unite those traits with awareness about the path to national aspirations, planning, prudence, unwavering efforts and bewaring not to miss targets until the path to heights of progress is covered.

Ayatollah Khamenei invoked several Qoranic verses in stating that the will of every human being has some impact on the societal changes, adding, under Divine statute, the very members of a community bring about changes and that the will and attitude of every individual influence the chain of changes for better or worse.

The IR Leader said the secret to endurance and sublimity of the humanity lies in change for better.

Ayatollah Khamenei promoted a receptive attitude towards any change for better and avoiding stagnancy, adding change for better is rather than anarchism, ferment, and destructuralization while stagnancy differs from social stability, and what constitutes the target is a stable but not stagnant society that experiences quick but accurate changes.

Ayatollah Khamenei reckoned that there are several requirements to bring progressive changes about, mainly as preserving origins, avoiding destructuralization, honoring national identity, keeping hope in future, liveliness, maintaining a receptive attitude towards criticism, promotion of competitiveness, planning and opting for an accurate policy.

"Opposite to the requirements are matters like behavioral and political ferment, nihilism, destructive moves and forgetting about national identity and fundamental bases of the society that never cause favorable changes to happen, rather, they are followed by a backward trend," the IR Leader noted.

Ayatollah Khamenei rejected that national identity counters religious identity, adding it (national identity) is made up of beliefs, demands and attitudes of a nation and no question the set of beliefs of a faithful and monotheist nation constitutes a component of its national identity.

Ayatollah Khamenei then warned about a big threat posed by the dominance of Zionism and global capitalism over the world developments, adding international networks of money and force which formed NATO military organization to grab dominance over the nations' wealth are now bent on forming a cultural NATO in which to adopt multifaceted media capacities to take hold of socio-cultural and politico-economic developments of nations to further promote their goals and destroy national identity of human communities.

Ayatollah Khamenei underlined vigilance in this regard.

Ayatollah Khamenei urged for adopting an accurate attitude towards developments and in this raised the new debate of "management of developments," adding, by sticking to past and denying innovation one may reach nowhere, while at the same time by ferment, in cultural, political, economic or ideological matters no progress will be achieved.

"The only right option is to open the way to innovation and free thinking and managing the change-inspiring road," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

Ayatollah Khamenei described the elites of the seminary and the university as those who must take responsibility of management of developments, adding though the authorities for their part have certain duties in this regard, the charge of developments and running activities that lead to repair, compliment and progress must be in hand of those elites.

Ayatollah Khamenei termed progress as the goal of any favorable development. The IR Leader pointed to different and sometimes fraud parameters in this regard, adding, to grasp the true version of progress, for one thing theoretical debates that undertake realities must be set up and then the path must be taken up after drawing a map, planning and setting priorities.

Ayatollah Khamenei then touched on the global indices of progress, including post-industrialization, self-sufficiency in staples, enhancing optimization, promoting literacy, promoting utilities, fostering life expectancy, and expanding telecommunication.

"These indices will be effective to achieve true progress once they are employed based on national identity and fundamental aspirations," Ayatollah Khamenei said, adding unless the case is so, "the promotion of the indices like in certain superficially-developed Western countries will result in domestic injustice, bullying against other nations, proliferation and use of destructive weapons like atomic bomb, promotion of indecency and ruining family and social bonds." "The Iranian nation keeps no desire for such a progress," the leader proclaimed.

Ayatollah Khamenei then touched on the additional parameters required by an Islamic System: expanding national wealth, seeking justice, scientific might, promotion of ethics, spirituality and human feelings, national dignity, combating against poverty, corruption, joblessness and discrimination, combating against unawareness and lawlessness, scientific promotion of management jobs, social discipline, and promotion of responsibilities and cultural independence.

Ayatollah Khamenei urged the academic and seminarian elites to undertake researches about social problems to find practical solutions, adding such researches will pave the way to progress.

Ayatollah Khamenei also welcomed the proposals put forward by several lecturers early in the meeting, including among others to establish a development management center, terming the suggestions scientific and professional. The IR Leader urged relevant bodies to procure the suggestions.

Early in the meeting, a number of professors and students made their point about national academic and intellectual affairs

The nation takes honor in its martyrs

(2006/11/09)

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei a large gathering of noble families of martyrs, war veterans and members of the Basij organization in the northeastern province of Semnan that loyalty in the path and aspirations of martyrs will secure national dignity, sovereignty and gross.

Ayatollah Khamenei called his meeting with "patient fathers and mothers of martyrs as well as honorable and stout wives of martyrs and their judicious children" highly inspirational, adding the stunning perseverance of these elated people through the difficult test of martyrdom of their beloved represents the concept embedded in the Qoranic verses about how the faithful treat fraught events. "The grateful Iranian nation will never forget them," he affirmed.

Ayatollah Khamenei ascribed the Iranian national dignity, honor and progress, political independence, the survival of revolutionary aspirations and Imam's memory, the national resistance against enemies as well as the country's ever-increasing advance to the sacrifice and bravery of the martyrs, adding, "Even if those achievements were not at hand, the nation would still take honor in the epic made by the martyrs and war veterans and the patience practiced by their beloved families," Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized.

Ayatollah Khamenei reckoned that nations introduce themselves by how they treat moments of truth, adding, the resolve of martyrs and war veterans still remains to live throughout the country and the present young faithful generation will line up against any event like the first generation of the revolution and the war to show that different generations of this nation has known their path of prosperity, progress and honor and will never abandon their aspirations.

Ayatollah Khamenei described Semnan a premier province in terms of the number of its martyrs and soldiers during the Sacred Defense era.

The IR Leader thanked Semnan's provincial bodies and ranks which served in wartime, including among others the Qaem battalion, the Logistics Staff and the Development Jihad Organization.

Referring to the deep and two-way relations between the clerics and the people, Ayatollah Khamenei said, "this has given the Shi'a clerics a pioneer status in various historic eras, including during Iran's constitutional revolution, the nationalization of the country's oil industries, and the Islamic Revolution."

The Islamic Revolution Leader emphasized that the clerics need to remain at the political scene, denouncing the continuous efforts made by the global arrogance to detach them from political activities.

Ayatollah Khamenei considered the cultural onslaught of the west as "a reality and a serious threat", urging the clerics to enlighten the mind of the public, particularly the youth about it.

He considered campaign against superstitions as another important duty of the clerics under current conditions, stressing that the noblest Messenger, too, attached great importance to that task.

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei told people in the northeastern province of Semnan that expedition of all-out development in country and pursuit of revolutionary justice-oriented slogans are among the working priorities of the authorities, adding the great goals demand a large drive that was commenced by previous administrations and continued by the serving cabinet, having managed to lift the Iranian cultured nation to favorable levels in terms of indices of progress and development.

Ayatollah Khamenei confirmed the authorities are complying with the revolutionary platform in their approach towards the state affairs. The IR Leader then hailed the strong spirit and hopeful manner of the nation, saying, "the recognition of nuclear rights and perseverance in this regard signals a meritorious understanding and national spirit. The Iranian nation has realized that availability of nuclear energy constitutes a chief index of development in the world." "The Islamic Republic of Iran is capable to secure the irrefragable right of the nation on its own and without stretching hands to other countries," he added.

Ayatollah Khamenei ruled out America's allegations that a global opposition is there against the Iranian nuclear rights, saying, "Besides the world's nations, over 150 member countries of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and other conventions advocate a break in the monopoly of nuclear energy and laud the Iranian nation for their stout pursuit of their nuclear rights, thereby proving that an absolute majority of the world people reject the attempt of a few Western countries to infringe the rights of the Iranian nation."

Ayatollah Khamenei affirmed that continuous existence of a firm spirit and the national hope stage the ground for the Iranian nation to conquer the peaks of progress and pride. The IR Leader touched on 27 years of enmity on the part of the global Zionism and the American arrogance against the Islamic Revolution and the Iranian nation, adding that contrary to the Western hue and cry, the enemies of the Iranian nation, including America, are holding onto a shakier position than the past ten or fifteen years whose tokens have surfaced in the America's defeat in Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine and Afghanistan.

Ayatollah Khamenei supported his statements about American fragileness in the Middle East by saying, "the American government exhausted all possibilities at hand and even pretended it had approved the formation of the Palestinian government, so that the Zionist regime could flee a face-off with the Palestinian people. Nevertheless, today a Palestinian government has come to power that does not recognize the Zionist enemy and is not ready to sit negotiation with the regime, hence America's one hundred percent defeat in Palestine."

The Islamic Revolution Leader then touched on America's costing and relentless, but botched attempts in different grounds, including to divert the Iranian nation from the path of the late Imam Khomeini, dwarf religious values, expand indecency among the youth, influence the administrations, stir sectarian feelings and internal conflict, and trouble universities, adding "every one realizes that America's incessant failures in the face of the Iranian nation and the Islamic System is not an accident, but a rational trend, inspired by the faith, vigilance, awareness, bravery, and timely decisions of the great and prudent Iranian nation, always having frustrated the enemies of Islam and the Revolution." Ayatollah Khamenei prayed to Almighty Allah the conditions follow the suit. Ayatollah Khamenei then hailed the Iranian nation's allegiance to Imam Khomeini's aspirations, saying the popularity of the serving President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, arises from his declaration and efforts to follow the ideas of Imam Khomeini, may Allah's mercy rest on him. "People in whatever part of the country trust on those persons who are more interested in religion, the Revolution and the Imam and this reality is a solid evidence that America has defeated in dwarfing the path and aspirations of Imam among the Iranian nation," Ayatollah Khamenei affirmed.

Ayatollah Khamenei pointed to reception of the slogans and objectives of the Islamic Revolution by the world's nations, especially Muslim, adding the Iranian nation has effectively exported its revolution and will continue its prideful path mightily and by relying on its aware, prudent and young generation. "The world of arrogance has to take back position in the face of this great nation," the IR Leader underlined.

Ayatollah Khamenei urged taking lessons from the continued triumph of the nation against the arrogance, adding, "the victories show that effort and work relied on faith and hope is the key to the nation's success and all people, from the youth to students, workers, clerics, industrialists, agrarians, capital owners and social and political activists must make unwavering effort based on their duties and responsibilities to cherish the existing national unity and promote it and accelerate the country's movement towards the goals of the Revolution and people."

The IR Leader affirmed that the performance of the Iranian nation divulged many of the mock slogans of the West concerning human rights, combat against terrorism and democracy. "The Iranian nation showed that religious democracy is genuine because in this kind of democracy, unlike the normal partisan feelings in the West, here the people themselves bring authorities to power upon their choice," Ayatollah Khamenei affirmed. The Islamic Revolution Leader acclaimed the Iranians' national unity, religious practice, national lively manner and notably the Iranian youths as great Divine blessings, urging cherishing those blessings by employing them to develop country.

Ayatollah Khamenei recommended the enemies of the Iranian nation to take lessons from the failed experience of challenge against the Islamic Republic. "The global dominance seekers must realize that the 21st century, contrary to the 19th or 20th century, is the era in which the spell of colonial policies breaks apart. It is the century of spirituality, independence and nations' return to their national identity and origin. Whatever power stands against this reality is but to fail." "The American people like any other nation are entitled to live a nice life. The goal will be met through their domestic efforts, provided their government do not regard itself the owner of sensitive regions in the world, including the Persian Gulf," Ayatollah Khamenei urged.

Ayatollah Khamenei then raised up the issue of the upcoming elections of the Leadership Assembly of Experts (LAE) and the Islamic Municipality Councils. Ayatollah Khamenei touched significance to the very presence of people at any vote, adding the LAE elections is in fact a bulwark and reserve for the future of the nation and country and the assembly must always be at work and this makes its elections im portant. Ayatollah Khamenei highlighted the municipality elections for their influence in the daily affairs of people in urban and rural areas, saying, "if honest, efficient, lively, faithful, decent and trustworthy people win the vote, people will be relieved ab out their daily affairs." The IR Leader also urged election candidates for tolerance toward rival sides and avoiding finding fault "for such a practice tarnishes the political ambience in society."
